The word “Shelter” kept coming to mind as Gracie dreamed of the foundation. It seemed very fitting as our desire is to bless the “shelter” that First Responders go home to – their spouse, children and marriage. Coincidentally (or not) the Bible verse that came to mind is Psalm 91:1: “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” It’s fitting that 91:1 is the numerical representation of the verse and also the number we call in times of emergency to contact our First Responders.

Your support helps us greatly so we can bless First Responders in our community. You can donate to The Shelter Foundation and these funds will help us send First Responder Couples to marriage counseling and to Marriage Retreats. We also use these funds to bless organizations that take care of the widow.
Another option in supporting us is through prayer. You can sign up to receive our monthly newsletter that will share prayer requests as we work to support First Responders.

Please contact us and we’d love to get you connected. We also will continually update our community pages with local resources.

With the next era of our foundation beginning in 2022, we launched a new logo. At the heart of The Shelter Foundation is the home and the silhouette of a home was featured in our original logo, representing not only our home as a shelter, but God’s protection and provision for His people. The new logo keeps the silhouette, but also features three additional rooflines. The four rooflines represent not only our hope to reach and impact more families, but represent the four primary branches of First Responders – Police, Fire, EMS and Dispatch. They also point upwards, from where our ultimate shelter and hope is provided.
